Fails vs Wins #6

Fail - After work one night I met a friend at Golden Dawn for a quick drink. It's super close to the shop and I wasn't going to be long so I left Frankie in the shop with a little sign in the window saying 'Don't worry I'll be back for the puppy!' When I came back Frankie had POOPED in the window display, right underneath a mannequin! The Manny was wearing a dress and it looked like she had shat herself! Doh!

Win - We reached 10,000 likes on Facebook this week! Woop woop!

Fail - It's been very quiet in the shop this week and twice customers gave me leap worthy frights by just walking in. Seriously girl, you work in a shop! If customers are giving you frights something's wrong?!

Fail - I literally squealed with delight in the McDonalds drive through this week when I saw they are making a Cheese Burger size Big Mac. It's completely solved my (first world) problem of having to choose between two Cheese Burgers or a Big Mac. Now now I can have both! Seth gave me a look like 'you need to get out more girlfriend!' but I was too stoked to care. Time to get-a-life!

Fail - Txting my flatmate while on the bike at the gym asking if he wanted me to pick up takeaways on the way home. Why do I always dream about fast food at the gym!?

Win - I realised this week seemed to be a lot more fails than wins. I was looking around for something to be a win when I spotted the two convenience stores right across the street from the shop that always jam pack the street with flowers. It looks so pretty! Such a great view that I don't really take the time to enjoy. So I popped across the road and took a few pics. Simple Pleasures x

Fails vs Wins #5

Fail - I threw my movie ticket in the bin accidentally thinking it was a receipt. That's just something I do. So I had to go back to the counter, they had to find the guy who served me to vouch that I actually bought the ticket bla bla bla - I know the drill. Kinda made it worse that I was seeing Despicable Me 2 alone. Okay not really alone but not with a kid and wouldn't that have made the story so much better -hehe!

Win - Running(I wish...walking/staggering/lunging/heaving)around the block to the Pokemon Theme Song! Seriously don't laugh till you try it! It's just so motivational.

Win - I saw a boat sinking with a man standing on top of it looking a little helpless when I was driving over the harbour bridge this week. I couldn't stop and nearly didn't do anything thinking someone else must have called for help, but I decided to call the coast guard just in case. It turned out no one had called and they we're going to send someone to help him. It reminded me of an interesting article about the 'Bystander Effect'. It explains how they did tests on crowds where they faked an emergency situation and watched as no-one helped, called police or interviened. It says the larger the crowd the less likely you're going to get help in a bad situation. Freaky! I don't know how seriously that man was in trouble or if he had already called someone? Perhaps he was sinking his boat on purpose for an insurance claim and I totally wrecked his retirement plan? But it made me feel good that if he was in trouble he would have been helped.

Win - Started watching the 'Mindy Project'. Love that Woman!

Win - Had breakfast at Freds before work today. Freaken love that place!

Fail - I accidentally downloaded a heavy metal cover of 'Livin On A Prayer' for my gym playlist. I was hoping for some Bon Jovi goodness to get me through that boring elliptical machine but what I really got was some guy screaming "GINA WORKS THE DINER ALL DAAAAAAYYYYYY!!" I got such a fright! Then I laughed out loud a little bit which is not cool when you're at the gym alone. The weirdest part of the whole ordeal was that by the end of the song I was secretly kinda into it! So wrong.

Fails vs Wins #4

Win - I found this great cover of the almighty Jay-Z's 99 Problems. It's pretty great!

Win - Okay so I know I'm like literally 10 years late but I just started watching Grey's Anatomy. I had seriously never seen a single episode! I've just finished season 2 and I'm completely hooked! That moment in the finale when Alex carries Izzie off Dennys dead body just broke my soul.

Fail - Letting soap opera type shows like Greys Anatomy make me cry like a 5 year old child. My face looked like a tragic anime cartoon after that episode - I had two thick back streams of eye makeup down my cheeks.

Win - I was given the complete Friends series box set on Blu-Ray for my B-day. It's so crazy re-watching it all in crystal clear definition. Man I love Ross! I can't get enough of that guy.

Fail - I put the shops yellow gum ball machine and yellow coat stand in the window for a little change of scenery. I thought it looked pretty cute but now everyday I hear "No you can't have a lolly pop!" then I see some child's sad desperate face smushed up against the glass longing for some candy. What a bully I am! It's like I've dangled treats in front of every child that wanders past and I'm sitting inside eating lollies and laughing in their disappointed little faces. It's just mean!

Fails vs Wins #3

Win - It was my Birthday this week! I nearly made this a fail. Not too keen on being well on the other side of 25 now.

Win - On my Birthday one of Seths geckos gave birth to a little cutie pie baby green gecko. 'His' name is Ruth.

Fail - Still can't walk on the treadmill at the gym without holding onto the bar. I'm just so out of control and un-co! I know I'm just a viral youtube video waiting to happen on that thing.

Win - Got my fringe/bangs back! I know I know, boring to everyone but me but it's my Birthday okay. I'm allowed!

Fail - Went to an open home ALONE on behalf of my Mother in Law. On top of looking/feeling like a kid who was pretending to be a grown up I did one of those awkward ankle rolls where you just fall half way and then recover by running a little bit. It was really loud so all the fancy couples who were schmoozing around the house turned to see who the dork was. I then made it worse by saying 'Whoopsie Daisies!'. Who am I? An 80 year old british lady? Maby Hugh Grant from Notting Hill?

Win - Bought an awesome beaded cropped jacket off ASOS that makes me look like I'm some kind of Matador! Brilliant!

Win - Went to a good friends wedding. He found his perfect match, they're the cutest darn couple ever. They walked into the reception to the Game of Thrones theme song - classic! Plus I got to wear my new Violet Skull Dress.

Fail - Bought myself the Violet Skull Dress then it sold out straight away. I hate it when that happens! People are coming in for the dress and I'm standing there wearing it saying 'sorry it's all gone!' I feel like such a greedy guts! Shop girls of the world do ya feel me? I'm sure it's happened to you too right?

Win - Bought an awesome set of yellow industrial draws off trademe for a steal! They came out of a lovely old guys work shed and after a good scrub up they're looking great and perfect for all my sewing things.

Fails vs Wins #2

Win - I joined the Gym! Thought it was about time I did some physical activity. It's been 5 years since I did so suppose that's really a fail isn't it?

Fail - It's been 5 years since I exercised. There we go.

Fail - Tripped on the last step and fell into the reception of the gym on my second visit. Doh!

Win - Bought a gorgeous vintage dress off Etsy to wear to a wedding and it's amazing!

Fail - Started biting my nails again after a month of being chew free. It's so hard! Whyyyyy?

Win - I taught Frankie to shut doors on command. It's seriously cute!

Win - We got our second visit from the local Cat/Dog called Ari. Frankie just stares at him confused.

Win - We had a lovely shop visit from Amanda from Here Comes The Sun and she took a super cute photo of our new Cat Earrings.

Win - We had two cat related wins this week! That deserves it's own win for sure!

Fails vs Wins #1

Fail - I walked past a table of super trendy Karen Walker clad girls sitting outside SPQR that all stared and laughed when I was just out of ear shot. I was super annoyed thinking they were being all judgey about my outfit or something, but then I realised I was having a very serious phone convo on my cell that had a hot pink case with huge bunny ears on it. I suppose having a serious business call on a bunny phone is a bit weird?! Still though, sunglasses inside is not okay! Hehe!

Win - Was featured in Your Home and Garden Magazine! Frankie got his portrait taken too. Thanks so much for the article Your Home and Garden!

Win - A lovely customer bought me in a little ceramic swan she found in an op-shop just because she thought would like it. She was 100% right! It's now proudly on the counter with business cards in it. That made my whole week!

Fail - Frankie wee'd on another dogs head! Yes you read that right. A cute little poodle ran up to him outside the shop to say hello and Frankie just cocked his leg and pissed right in his face! I was so embarrassed - luckily the owner thought is was funny and it was a tiny amount of wee but still. Just terrible.

Win - Re-watched one of my top 5 favourite movies of all time with a friend. Benny and Joon. She loved it which was great because there's nothing worse than talking something up and having it so close to your heart for someone you like to hate it after. If you haven't seen it you must. It's Johnny Depp in all his early 90s glory. Ahhhhh! I freaken love it okay!
